Firefox extensions, and Tomboy notes moved over without a problem.

The default Gnome install for OpenSuse got me Inkscape, Java, Pidgin, GnuCash, Sudoku.

Added the MySQL tools, MySQL, Apache, PHP, Wine, Audacity with no fuss through the Software Manager.

Miro, Shutter, Komodo, Dropbox, Gramps, Thunderbird 3, SmartSVN, PowerDVD, CrossFTP, AIR, Skype, Freeciv are being difficult so far. Several of these though, I already have in local directories.

My evolution settings didn’t come quietly, but that may be because of my partition wrangling.

    Got AIR from http://get.adobe.com/air/

Shutter source (I’ll have to learn to package I guess) from http://shutter-project.org/downloads/

    Dropbox source from https://www.getdropbox.com/downloading

    Gramps from repository at http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Education/openSUSE_11.1/

Dropbox required some added packages but compiled and got up and running without a hitch.

    Shutter has more trouble- it was just some scripts that I put in place but it’s erroring out with “Can’t locate Gnome2.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /usr/lib/perl5/5.10.0/x86_64-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/5.10.0 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.10.0/x86_64-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.10.0 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.10.0/x86_64-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.10.0 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl .) at ./shutter line 32.
